November 2013 Job Vacancy Analysis Report Dear Reader, Season’s greetings!!! It’s the end of year edition of the Job vacancy analysis for 2013 and it promises to be as interesting as always. The November 2013 edition reflects a decrease in advertised job vacancies compared to the month of October 2013, which can possibly be ascribed to organisations gradually concluding recruitment activities for the year and working towards reducing expenses as some organizations prepare their final accounts. Our research into the ‘Perceived Differences Between Holders of the University Degree and holders of the Polytechnic Diploma’ has been concluded and the article is attached in this edition of the JVA. We hope you will enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed conducting the research and writing the article. Feel free to share the article with your friends and colleagues. A copy of the article as well as the complete Appendix is also available for download at www.cipmnigeria.org we have over 7 pages of comments by participants in the survey! As the year runs out and we take stock of our activities for the year and make plans for 2014, reflections on our activities for the year will include questions on why certain objectives were not met and why resources we thought would cater for certain projects seemed inadequate. We hope that our HR Tip for the month titled “How to Increase Productivity” will help our esteemed readers be better managers of time and resources towards increased productivity in 2014. Whatever decisions you make towards enhanced productivity in 2014? We encourage you to utilize a greater part of the benefits accrued for family and the things that matter to you. Practice work-life balance and encourage the practice of work-life balance in your organization and within your sphere of control. The Consultancy and Research team of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management would like to use this medium to say a big thank you for your readership and participation in our various research projects in 2013, we appreciate you and we look forward to exciting editions and interactions in 2014. Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance. Warm Regards, The CIPM Consultancy and Research Team! Download Free Material 12-Dec-2013

In doing this we discussed briefly about the educational system in Nigeria, and the unique items that make the University Degree and Polytechnic Diploma both different and similar. We analyzed data received from a questionnaire that was administered online using a web platform and offline using printed out questionnaires, and explored the possibility that there is a difference between holders of both qualifications.
