The Institute has on its roll over 11, 000 members registered as individual members.
For admission as an individual member, a person would obtain and complete the application form. Such a person should possess the qualification of a minimum of Higher National Diploma and must have worked in any area of Human Resources Management for up to a period of four years.
Upon application, such a person could be admitted into the grades of student member to write examinations.
Upgrading
Every
grade of member is eligible for an upgrade to
a higher grade after spending a number of years
in the profession.
Graduate
/ Affiliate:
To qualify for upgrade will have
-
Spent
a minimum of 4
years
-
Would
have performed such functions as Record
Management, participated in Recruitment,
Selection process
-
Attended
MCPE of the Institute and acquired at least
15 points.
Associate:
An Associate will spend 6
years in the grade. To qualify for
upgrade, he:

would
have understood Industrial elations and
Grievance handling; Staff Training & Development;
change management; be abreast with trends
in the profession - performance management,
reward system etc.

should
have risen to manager (or higher) status
in employment.
-
should
be of some influence in corporation as to
attend Institute’s functions
-
must
have attended MCPE and acquired at least
20 credits.
Full
Member: A member will spend 7
years on this grade. To be made a
Fellow, he will:
-
have
risen in stature to the level of Director;
or head of HR function.
-
have
a record of participation in CIPM.
-
should
have served the Institute in Committees
or branch level.
-
be
financially active.
