Yet again, the CIPM continues to expand its frontiers in Africa and across the World. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Prestigious Aston University, Birmingham, UK on strengthening our channels for People Capability Development.
The partnership with Aston University includes Curriculum integration efforts, which will enable Aston M.Sc HRM students qualify for certain exemptions as they pursue their CIPM certifications and Vice Versa for CIPM Members. In addition, the Parties are excited by the tremendous opportunities there exist to collaborate on research efforts that will enable deeper dives into the African and Nigerian contexts whilst drawing out ‘glocal’ insights. Of critical importance also is the mutual desire to focus on ensuring academic endeavor is grounded in the realities of the world of work, thus helping to bridge the gap between ‘the Town and the Gown’. In pushing this focus, the CIPM and Aston University shall provide platforms of discourse across the spectrum and collaborative opportunities for professionals on both sides. Also key to the partnership, is of course, the delivery of highly impactful learning and certification programs in various Human Resource Management sub-disciplines and in other associated areas.
Kathy Daniels, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor International, Aston University noted that Aston University is committed to teaching the future leaders about business management and I’m delighted that we are forging this relating with CIPM because getting it right with People is key to the success of every organization. Hence, this partnership is a very welcome development geared towards Educating the HR Managers of the future.
Also speaking, the Registrar/CEO, Busola Alofe, MCIPM, noted that this partnership is for the continued professional development of HR Practitioners to deliver on People Experience which is prime to other experiences. We are excited at the value creation opportunities that this poses for the CIPM Members.
Matt Dean (Director of International Recruitment), our partnership with CIPM, what we are looking to do is to capitalize on the benefits of this MOU to the benefits of Aston Alunmi and for CIPM Members.
Look out for more developments from the MoU.
